The Impact of Using Technological Means on the Development of Banking Business in the Jordanian Commercial Banks

The study aimed to identify the impact of using technological means on the development of banking business in Jordan's commercial banks through (Electronic payment methods, electronic portfolios, smartphone applications) offered by commercial banks. The researcher followed the analytical descriptive approach, and the study community consisted of Jordanian commercial bank employees (15,327) staff members distributed to branches and headquarters. The researcher relied on questionnaire to collect data from the study sample where it was distributed to (360) staff members, (11) have been excluded for not being valid for statistical analysis; therefore, the valid study sample was (349). The most notable results are: There is a high level of use of technology in the Jordanian commercial banking sector. The results showed a statistically significant difference at the level of significance (α ≤ 0.05) for using means of technology through (electronic payment, electronic portfolios and smartphone applications) altogether on developing banking business in Jordanian commercial banks. Among the most prominent recommendations were: Management of commercial banks should focus on introducing customers to the advantages of modern electronic services and ways of their optimal use using websites.
