Abstract

This study aimed to identify the degree to which physical education teachers possess technical educational knowledge according to the (TPACK) model from their point of view in Irbid Governorate. The researchers used the descriptive approach using the survey method. The study population consisted of (617) male and female teachers, while the study sample consisted of (243) male and female physical education teachers in Irbid Governorate, who were selected randomly. For the purpose of building the study tool , the researchers modified the Al-Aishi tool (2021) and Al-Rakibat tool (2021) to suit the nature and objectives of the current study, as the study tool in its final form consisted of (35) distributed over (7) fields. To treat the data statistically, the researchers used several statistical treatments including (arithmetic means, standard deviations, t-test, one-way analysis of variance).

The results showed that the level of physical education teachers’ possession of technical educational knowledge according to the (TPACK) model from their point of view was moderate. They also showed statistically significant differences between males and females in the level of possession of technical educational knowledge according to the (TPACK) model, in favor of males in most areas of the study tool. The results also showed statistically significant differences in the academic qualification (postgraduate studies, bachelor’s degree or less) in the level of possession of technical educational knowledge according to the (TPACK) model, in favor of those who hold the qualification (postgraduate studies) in most areas of the study tool. The researchers recommend the need to conduct more workshops and training courses as an attempt to raise the level of teachers’ possession of educational technical knowledge and benefit from it in physical education lessons.
