The Role of Strategic Leadership Practice in Building Smart Organizations: Field Study: Participants in the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency

This study aimed to identify the role of strategic leadership practice in its combined dimensions (defining strategic direction, developing human capital, enhancing organizational culture, balanced organizational control, ethical practices) on building smart organizations in its dimensions (business intelligence, continuous learning, understanding the environment, finding strategic alternatives, creative orientation) for Entities participating in the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency in Jordan. The study included a sample of 340 employees in senior, middle and executive management.
The study adopting the descriptive-analytical approach based on comprehensive survey of employee, data was analysed through the SmartPLS.4 software.
The results of the study concluded that the overall performance index of strategic leadership came with a high level, and the building of smart organizations has achieved a medium level, and it also showed the existence of an impact of strategic leadership in its dimensions in building smart organizations in the departments participating in the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency.
Based on the results of the analysis, the study recommended the need to adopt strategic leadership practices among its employees of supervisory levels, to ensure that their role in building smart organizations is maximized.
