The Reality of Jordanian University Students' Awareness of Cybersecurity Culture, Concepts, and Domains from their Own Perspective

Abstract

      This study aimed to examine the level of awareness among Jordanian university students regarding cybersecurity culture, its concepts, and domains from their own perspective. The study employed a descriptive survey methodology and was conducted on a sample of (361) male and female students from Jordanian universities, selected through stratified random sampling. A questionnaire consisting of (26) items was used
as the data collection tool, and its validity and reliability
were verified.

      The findings indicated that Jordanian university students' awareness of cybersecurity culture, its concepts, and domains from their perspective was moderate. The results showed no statistically significant differences at the level (α=0.05) attributed to variables (gender, academic level, college) on the study sample's assessment of university students' awareness of cybersecurity culture, its concepts, and domains.

      Based on these findings, the study recommended that Jordanian universities should conduct training courses for university students to build cybersecurity culture and raise awareness about its concept and domains.
