The Role of School principals in Zarqa First Education Directorate in Promoting Modern Educational Concepts from Teachers' Point of View

Abstract

      This study aimed to identify the role of school principals in Zarqa First Education Directorate in promoting modern educational concepts from the teachers' point of view. The researchers followed the descriptive survey method, and the study sample consisted of (433) male and female public school teachers in  Zarqa First Education Directorate, representing 10%  from the entire study population, and it was selected by a simple random method. To achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers developed a questionnaire consisting of (44) items distributed over six areas. The results showed that the role of school principals in promoting modern educational concepts was high, and the order of the areas was as follows (  Creative learning, environmental education, technological education, self-learning, active learning, and distance learning). The results of the study also showed that there were statistically significant differences in the role of school principals in promoting modern educational concepts due to the gender variable in all fields except in  two fields (creative learning and  active learning) came in favor of males, and there were no statistically significant differences in the role of school principals in promoting modern educational concepts due to the variable of academic qualification and years of experience.  In light of the findings of the study, the researchers presented a set of recommendations, including directing the attention of principals and teachers to modern educational concepts and constantly following up on new developments in these concepts.
