Abstract

      This study aimed to identify the degree of availability of personal traints and their relationship to decision-making patterns among scool principals at Mafraq Distict Directorate of Education. The study followed the correlative survey curriculum, and the sample of the study consisted of 300 male and female teachers at the government schools affiliated to the Directorate of Education in Mafraq District, of the school year 2022/2023. In order to achieve the objectives of the study, a questionnaire was prepared and it included two parts. The first part was to measure the degree of availability of personal traits of school principals at Mafraq District, while the second part was to measure the principlas' decision-making patterns. The results showed that the degree of personal traits of school principals at Mafraq District from the teachers' point of view was modearte. The results as well showed that the level of decision-making patterns of the principlas at Mafraq District was moderate for the whole patterns. finally, the results of the study revealed an intrinsic correlation between personal traits, both leadership and social, with the types of decision-making patterns of school principals at Mafraq District.

      In light of the findings of the study, the researcher made a number of recommendations, most notably: to build on the results of the study in the selection and preparation of school principals, and to develop training programs for school principals focusing on personal traits and low-level decision-making patterns.
