Abstract

The study aimed to identify the training needs of trainees in vocational training centers to join government service institutions for the development of the national digital economy: a prospective study from the point of view of officials. The current study relied on a qualitative approach, and to achieve the objectives of the study, the researchers developed an interview form, and it was distributed to a sample of (15) He was an official in the government service institutions in Amman in the first quarter of the year (2024), which are (the Jordanian Ministry of Labor, the Amman Chamber of Commerce, and the Amman Chamber of Industry), after ensuring their honesty and stability. The results of the study showed that one of the most important training needs for trainees to join government service institutions to develop the national digital economy, from the point of view of officials, was following up on technological developments, as employees must be aware of the latest technological developments related to the digital economy, such as artificial intelligence, big data analysis, and cloud computing, and then identify training needs that help implement these technologies effectively. The results of the study showed the importance of developing planning and management skills, as employees must be trained on how to plan and manage digital economy projects. Including strategic planning, risk management and project quality assurance. In addition to the above, enhancing communication and cooperation skills, it is important to develop communication and cooperation skills among employees, as they must work together in a digital environment, and this can be achieved by organizing training courses that enhance these skills. The results showed the need to improve cybersecurity awareness, as employees must be trained in cybersecurity basics and practices, as sensitive data and information are considered an important part of digital government services. The need to strengthen leadership capabilities, as leadership skills should be developed among employees who undertake digital economy projects, including planning, decision-making and problem-solving capabilities. In light of this, the researchers recommended several recommendations, the most important of which are the need to reconsider and analyze the current gaps, evaluate the current capabilities and skills of employees in the areas of the digital economy and information technology, and provide training courses for employees in government service institutions, especially in the areas of strategic planning and employing technological developments to enable them to Contributing to raising the national digital economy.
