Abstract

The research aimed at revealing the semantic indications of words talking about clothing in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of the Prophet, in a way similar to what is known as (body language), and applying these indications within the frame of Islamic sociology. The current paper studied these indications , then analyzed the meanings to extract what they hold of semantic indications when gathering with others, represented by the clothes for Friday prayer, and leading prayers, clothe of elderly people, widowed women, the vulgar, borrower of an attire, the caller man, devotion ritual for Pilgrim or Umra, the visitor and the visited. The research concluded that each dress has its indications which should be adjusted in accordance with the Qur’an and Sunnah and right values. The research recommends spreading these indications in society and educating individuals how to deal with any new issue, as clothes are not just a piece of fabric, but rather, it is the identity of a society, and the symbol of its distinction and independence.
