Abstract

This study aimed to identify the effect of a proposed educational program using mental training on learning gymnastics skills. The study sample consisted of 24 female students from the Department of Physical Education at Al al-Bayt University who are enrolled in the gymnastics course  from the summer semester of the academic year 2021-2022. The study sample was divided into two equal groups: experimental and control each containing 12 students. The control group was traditionally taught gymnastics skills, while the experimental group was taught gymnastics skills using a mental training program. The results showed that the mental training accompanying the educational program is effective in teaching gymnastics skills. The researchers recommended using mental training coupled with skill learning within the educational units because of its positive effect on accelerating the learning process.
