The study aimed to identify the degree of awareness of eighth-grade science teachers in Mafraq Governorate regarding artificial intelligence (AI) concepts and their applications
in education from their point of view. To achieve this, the descriptive analytical method was used, and a questionnaire was adopted as a data collection tool, the validity and reliability of the questionnaire were verified, which consisted of (218) randomly selected male and female eighth-grade science teachers from primary schools in Mafraq Governorate during the academic year 2024-2025. The results showed that there is the degree of awareness of eighth-grade science teachers in Mafraq Governorate regarding AI concepts and their applications in education was of a moderate degree. The results also showed that there were statistically significant differences between the averages of the sample for the degree of conceptual awareness of artificial intelligence and its applications in education due to the variable of gender in favor of the female teachers. However, no statistically significant differences due to the variable of the experience or directorate. Based on these findings, the study recommended the necessity of enhancing science teachers' awareness—especially male teachers—of AI concepts and their applications in education through specialized training courses.
