Mathematics Teachers' Assessments in Zarqa's Qasaba Regarding the Reasons for Jordanian Students' Decline in International Mathematics Tests

Abstract

      The study aimed to find out the degree of estimates of mathematics teachers in the Kasbah of Zarqa for the reasons for the decline of Jordanian students in international tests for mathematics.  The descriptive survey approach was employed, and the study sample was randomly selected from the study community, which numbered (147) teachers and mathematics teachers in the first Zarqa education, and a questionnaire was prepared consisting of (24) items, distributed to (4) dimensions.  The results showed that the degree of estimates of mathematics teachers in the Kasbah of Zarqa for the reasons for the decline of Jordanian students in international tests for mathematics came with a high degree, the field of reasons due to students came in first place, then the field of reasons belonging to parents, and in third place came the field of reasons due to the teacher, and in the last place came the field of reasons due to the curriculum. The results also showed that there are no statistically significant differences according to the variable of gender, academic qualification, and experience.
