The Degree of Possession and Practice of Artificial Intelligence Technologies Skills by Teachers of the Vocational and Technical Education Program (BTEC) in Al-Muwaqqar District

The present study aimed to identify the degree to which teachers of the Vocational and Technical Education Program (BTEC) in Al-Muwaqqar district possess and practice skills related to artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in teaching. The researcher adopted the descriptive methodology and selected a random sample of 60 males and females BTEC teachers in the Al-Muwaqqar district. A questionnaire tool was developed, and its validity and reliability were verified.
The study yielded several results. It was found that the level of AI technology skills among teachers was high. The results also indicated statistically significant differences at the significance level (α = 0.05) in the participants' views regarding the degree of possession based on gender in favor of females. However, there were no statistically significant differences based on teaching experience. Additionally, the study revealed that the level of practicing AI technologies in teaching was low. Most teachers in the Al-Muwaqqar district suffer from weakness in applying AI technologies in teacing.
The researcher recommended, most notably, the provision of practical training programs targeting teachers to equip them with the necessary skills to integrate AI technologies into the educational process. Special emphasis should be placed on practical aspects, such as producing innovative educational content and personalizing learning based on students’ needs, abilities, and interests.
