Abstract

The study aimed to investigate the effect of using the EWA application on 10th grade EFL students' oral skills and their perspectives toward it. The participants of the study consisted of 40 students from the 10th grade joining listening and speaking lessons on Abu Ubaidah Amir Ibn al-Jarrah Secondary School for Boys at Mafraq District Directorate of Education. To achieve the purposes of the study, a test was developed for the experimental and control groups in this study. In addition, a questionnaire was applied to the experimental group. The participants were already divided into two sections by the school administration. Then, they were randomly assigned into two groups: The experimental group (20 students) and the control group (20 students). The experimental group was taught the listening and speaking skills using  EWA  application, while the control group was subjected to study the listening and speaking skills using the regular instruction. The results of the study revealed that there were statistically significant differences between the mean scores of students in the experimental group and the control group in listening and speaking skills and their aspects due to using the EWA application in favor of the experimental group.  Students in the experimental group developed positive perspectives towards using the EWA application in their learning of English listening and speaking skills classes. As a result, it was recommended to use EWA application as an instructional aid in learning listening and speaking skills and their aspects
