Morphological Linguistic Usage in Standard and Colloquial Arabic

Abstract

The current study presents the linguistic usage as an innovative morphological linguistic notion. Whilst language employs new forms and structures and substitute them with other ones, these forms serve as a substitution for the used ones. The motivation behind this study is to disclose the most prominent forms of linguistic usage at the morphological level. Additionally, it aims to elucidate the nature of this usage, and explicate the newly integrated forms. Importantly, this descriptive study comprises data collection, and the association of the data with their actual usage. However, it is worth mentioning that the study is divided into three sections, the first presents the notion of linguistic usage, the second explores its verb forms manifestation, and the last one explores its noun forms manifestation. Finally, the findings of the study indicate that the utilization of certain linguistic forms is not due to their pronunciation difficulty nor the inability to convey them effectively. Indeed, it stems from the incorporation of certain morphological forms and to incorporating new substitutions, creating innovation at the level of Arabic morphology.
