Abstract

The study aimed to demonstrate the level of impact of the repercussions of the political modernization plan on reducing the gender gap in Jordan. The study relied on the descriptive approach, and it showed that the women’s axis was one of the axes on which the political and economic modernization plan focused most, and this was evident through the constitutional amendments and party election laws, which as a whole aimed to achieve equality between men and women and reduce the gender gap, by giving women broader opportunities to participate in elections and parties, to reach the stage of equality with men in rights and duties. The study recommends amending article (11/A/4) of the Political Parties Law No. (7) of 2022 to increase the percentage of women’s representation upon establishment.
