Editorial board duties
Responsibilities of the Series Editor-in-Chief:
• Oversee the journal's editorial policy and monitor its implementation in accordance with its objectives and mission.
• Make the final decision to accept, reject, or request revisions of research papers, based on the evaluation reports received.
• Supervise the peer review process, ensuring its confidentiality, integrity, and adherence to accepted academic standards.
• Approve the selection of reviewers in coordination with the editorial board members, verifying the absence of any conflicts of interest.
• Approve journal issues prior to publication.
• Monitor the journal’s compliance with scientific publishing ethics, academic integrity standards, and COPE guidelines.
• Work on developing the journal, contributing to enhancing research quality, and attracting researchers.
• Track global rankings and ensure compliance with the database requirements that the journal seeks to join.
Duties of the Series Editorial Board Members:
• Conduct the initial evaluation of submitted research in terms of specialization and compliance with the journal's scope and publication requirements.
• Propose names of specialized reviewers, ensuring they are not board members, not affiliated with the same institution as the researchers, and have no joint scientific publications with the researchers in the study; coordinate the review processes with the Editor-in-Chief.
• Review the peer review reports and provide appropriate scientific recommendations regarding the research.
• Participate in editorial board meetings and contribute to the discussion of editorial policies and journal development plans.
• Contribute to improving the scientific content quality of the journal and suggest special themes or issues when necessary.
• Adhere to scientific publishing ethics and maintain the confidentiality of research, as well as the data of researchers and reviewers.
Tasks of the magazine's Editorial Secretary:
• Receiving research papers and ensuring the completion of submission requirements before presenting them to the editorial board.
• Organizing correspondence between the editorial board, researchers, and reviewers.
• Monitoring the peer review process and documenting its reports within the specified timelines.
• Preparing an electronic library that includes accepted papers, rejected papers, and those still under review.
• Organizing and preserving the magazine’s paper and electronic archives.
• Following up on technical and procedural aspects of publishing in coordination with relevant parties.
• Tracking the distribution of published issues to databases and completing administrative procedures.
