Abstract

This study aimed to identify the concept of just war theory, define its principles, and assess the extent to which the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip conforms to these principles. This was achieved by answering the following main question: Does the war declared by Israel on the Gaza Strip conform to the principles of just war?

The study employed a descriptive-analytical approach and a legal methodology. It reached several conclusions, including that Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip are entirely incompatible with the tenets of just war and contradict all principles of international humanitarian law and the UN Charter. Finally, the study recommended investigating war crimes and genocide through the International Criminal Court.
