Abstract

This study aimed at identifying the availability of the requirements to activate digital educational platforms for teaching English as a second language in Jordanian universities from the faculty members’ point of view. The study used the descriptive analytical method, and the sample of the study consisted of (30) faculty members who were randomly selected from two universities (The University of Jordan and The German Jordanian University). A questionnaire of (24) items was distributed after its validity and reliability were verified. The results of the study revealed that the availability of the necessary requirements to activate digital educational platforms for teaching English as a second language in Jordanian universities from the faculty members’ point of view came at a positive level (M=3.62/5.00). It also showed that there are no statistically significant differences (a=0.05) in the availability of these requirements from the faculty members’ point of view due to the variables of gender, age and experience. The study recommended conducting more courses and workshops for faculty members as well as students to enhance their use of digital educational platforms, and to train them on how to use them.
